Golf in Sicily
Founded in 2012, the I Monasteri Golf Club is an integral part of the prestigious 5-star Borgo di Luce I Monasteri Golf & Spa Resort, in Syracuse. The 18-hole par 71 golf course is spread over an area of 6520 meters inside a plantation of orange and mandarin trees, lemons and Indian figs, and was designed by the architects David Mezzacane - president of the Italian Association of Golf Course Architects - and Vincenzo Mazzacane. A Mediterranean paradise where you can practice this sport and relax your mind by getting lost in the green expanses.
The course is a par 71 with five tees per hole. The location of the club-house and the resort facilitates alternate between the first and second nine holes, immersed in a wonderful and changing nature. The 6th hole is a par 4 and has been designed inside a cultivation of prickly pears, while special white limestone hills surround the path at holes 2, 3 and 4.

40 stations for your practice
Take golf lessons!
The driving range of the golf course has 40 stations, putting greens and chipping greens and practice bunkers, which both the amateurs of this sport and the more experienced can take advantage of to put into practice what they know about golf. Under the expert guidance of the pro Giuseppe Marra, you can take private lessons to improve your game, get yourself corrected by the teacher or be directed towards new game tactics and strategies.
The structure also has a club house located in a favorable position with respect to the hotel, with a pro-shop, where you can buy all the necessary equipment, changing rooms and lockers, a shop selling typical products, buvettes and bars. It is also possible to rent golf carts, electric and manual trolleys, golf bags, in order to equip yourself properly on the course.
Head Pro of the Golf Club
Giuseppe Marra
Giuseppe Marra, born in 1982 and graduated college with a degree in Biology, is Head Pro at the Borgo di Luce I Monasteri Golf & Spa Resort since 2012. An instructor who for six years, with passion and enthusiasm, brings all his experience to the golf club.
Regional Coach for Calabria and Sicily, he is the founder of the Mediterranea Golf Academy and specialized in the analysis of the short game at the Harold Swash School of Putting of Excellence. He is also a certified instructor for Trackman University, AimPoint, Swing Catalyst and US Kids Golf.
